The Original Olga |
The Hani |
Like the Olga, the Hani is a trademarked sandwich. Hani is from the early 1980s from Detroit's National Coney Island. It pretty much started as a breaded chicken pita wrap, serving as an alternative to the popular Coney Island Hot Dog. Popular with Detroit's youth, who tend to hang around Coney Islands.
My opinion.
I'm going to have to go with the Olga sandwich. The quality of ingredients are much better, though you're also paying a higher price (~ $8). The Hani bread tends to be a tad bit dryer too. The only down side; you can't get some signature Coney Fries from Olgas. So if your looking for a heart stopping side like chilly cheese fries, the Hani is an acceptable fall back.
Most Coney Islands in Michigan will have a wrap section, that imitates the Hani. But, for an Olga sandwich, you must go to the Olga's Kitchen.
