Zeus, King of Wieners

I believe in balance, so time to talk good about a business. Zeus, Coney Island just opened up in south Lansing (where Penn and Cedar come together). For well over 10 years, the Coney biz has been dominated by one place, Sparty Coney Island. Basically they were the only business in town. So they took that and ran. Charging $5.00 for chili cheese fries, and just under $4.00 for a coney dog, was a bit too extreme. Lafayette Coneys, they were not.

So I was happy to see Zeus in town. They have a full menu (which makes me think they may be a chain?), $1.00 off weekday breakfast specials, and coneys for under $2.00. I've only had breakfast there so far, service was good, food good. Our server was actually a disgruntled Sparty's employee, so we were able to exchange hate stories about her former employer. I think they have Kogell's Dogs, so I'll be back for lunch. Now if only they were as close to work as Sparty's.

Turns out, they are not a chain, but rather a second store. The other is in Brighton, Mi under a different Coney Island name.
