I recently made an attempt to make a mocha without the use of an expensive cappuccino machine. Here's how is went down. Just a warning, be prepared to make a mess.
- Coat the serving mug(s) with the type of chocolate you'd normally use for a mocha. Set aside.
- Boil up some water
- Finely grind 3tbs of coffee per 6oz of boiled water. Texture really will depend on the press.
- Steep in french press for about 3-4 minutes. (French presses are relatively cheap)
- While steeping, boil up some milk in a pot. Pot above is half full.
- When its about to boil, use a hand blender (pictured on top of pic) to emulsify and foam up the liquid, pull or lower heat if its about to go over.
- Add coffee to mug, then milk.
