Real Men Play Chess

Its interesting to see some of the penalties that are dished out in sports. The recent brawl in the NBA handed out its "harshest penalties" to set an example to the players... a 15 game suspension. Major League Baseball actually awards cheating through drug use, by nominating cheaters into the hall of fame. Cheating in football and hockey has literally become part of the sport, and a slap on the wrist if they're caught by a ref. Olympics tell the player to go home, and try again next year.

But here's what I wanna see occur in our American multi-billion dollar sports. A chess player has been banned from tournaments for ten years as he was caught cheating using blue tooth technology to get get his strategy. If we were actually serious about bringing back sportsmanship and values back into our pro sports, these are the types of penalties that need to be handed out. Until then, I'll stick to minor league baseball, and college sports.
