Gas prices seem to keep climbing. The reason this time? A crunch at refineries due to maintenance and environmental regulations and such.
This has got to be the lamest excuse I've ever heard! Crude oil refineries are a trillion dollar business, yet their unable to gauge the summer demand, and environmental legislation? I think not. Don't blame the tree lovers this time for $4 gas. Just brush up on your short term history.
On May 1st, Venezuela president Hugo Chávez took control of all oil fields that were once controlled by the oil companies. Considering Venezuela is the US 4th largest crude oil supplier, I think its safe to say that big oil is scrambling by smacking us with their woes.
Then there's that whole Iraq thing. Remember back when we invaded Iraq to secure the oil fields from the evil dictator Husein? Well, I guess things didn't go quite to Cheney's plan, resulting in expensive "blood oil" that we freely pay for at the pumps.
I was once told that excuses are like assholes, we all have them, and they all stink. Well, bring on those shitty hurricanes!
