The Iowa reports are in - Huckabee for the win in the republican race. And its no secret. He won because of Jesus. This is a classic case and point, where the Jesus card will win over any amount of money or fame other candidates can throw into their campaign. A bit of an oxymoron when you think of it, considering the money behind Christian beliefs in America.
Initially, during the pre-race, I thought we were going to get my old Republican party back, where issues were stated. Heck, the Dems were talking up religion more then the Republicans were back then. Of course, when Iowa came around, it was time to cut the crap (also known as issues) and talk faith and who has the biggest Jesus.
Course, this all means we move closer once more to flushing the "Establishment Clause" from the 1st Amendment down the toilet. You know...that whole, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" Or what of Thomas Jefferson's "building a wall of separation between church and state." It would see this country learns very little. The last 8 years of Bush should have shown very clearly our country in todays global climate can not work on just the Jesus card, much like Iran running on the Allah card. It would have been interesting to see who would have come out ahead, if Jesus was banned from the debates...
