With Sarah Palin nominated for the Republican VP pick, she gets a unique power that most do not get. The power to be heard.

Palin quickly made public their youngest son, Trig, has Down Syndrome, when they had him 4 months ago. She is quoted as saying how blessed they are that God chose them to raise a baby with Down Syndrome. We expect Sarah to continue the religious tone throughout the rest of the campaign, regarding this subject.

What angers me, is that she is totally blowing a great opportunity to educate the public about the hazards of having a child at such an old age. In her case 44. The facts: 1 in 41 babies will have Downs if mom is 44. Its clean cut, the chances increase with age. It was not Gods will to bless them with such a child. If anything, its a penalty for being greedy. Heck, its even one of the seven deadly sins.

John McCain had enough sense to adopt his child, a true blessing. Palin, was blessed with ignorance. If she wants more kids, may God bless her with the knowledge to help out those that need a home.
