As a user of both a PC tablet and Home Theater PC (HTPC), I decided to try out the new Safari Reader option and see how it compares to Readability. The function is a bit hidden, but once you know where to look, it works pretty well, but not as good as the products they are trying to mimic.
What is Reader? Basically, The Safari Reader option strips all that garbage from most online articles (such as news article on CNN) and gives you just the text of the article with some added zoom options, making it a perfect feature for tablets, HTPC, and of course iOS devices.
Here's how it works:
1) You'll need to be on Safari 5
2) Next you'll have to be on a page that Reader detects as a article safe page (such as a cnn news story). Just going to CNN.com won't yield any results.
3) Once on a legitimate article page, a "Reader" button will show up in the URL.
4) Click on the "Reader" button, and you'll get the cleaner version.
Aside from the devices I listed earlier, this is also a good way to get rid of those pesky "link ads" you may get in an article when you mouse over them (I often read with my mouse cursor).
I like how this is integrated by default, however, I still prefer the Readability plugin/link option.
Reasons:
1) there are more optimization options, such as inverse color (great for the large HTPC screens).
2)I'm also not ready to make Safari my default browser.
That said, this will get the job done for most users, looking to clean up a page.

This is a very useful article. I think it is important to provide "how to". I am sure its out there but I have not seen another article on using Safari Reader. Great post.
