The Sinners and Saints of Katrina

Sinner - Governor of Louisiana/Mayor of New Orleans - For not having a plan to evacuate low/no income families before the storm. For pointing fingers.

Saint - Fish and Wildlife - First ones on the scene rescuing people.

Sinner - Head of FEMA - For thinking 2,000 national guard were plenty. For failing to be on standby before the storm.

Sinner - President Bush - For lying to us about how thinly stretched our forces are. For pointing fingers at his cabinet. For saying we can handle this ourselves, foreign aid not needed. (Welcome to Russia). For making US look bad...again.

Saint - Weather Channel - For telling us it was going to be bad.

Sinner - Last 30 years of Presidents - For cutting the levee budgets, calling it "pork"

Saint - Civil Engineers of New Orleans - For saying levees can only handle a CAT-3 storm, please give us money.

Sinner - Material Looters - I don't remember the people of South-East Asia looting after the tsunami. Now those are some poor people. And yes, there was plenty to steal from the resorts.

Saint
- Coast Guard - For taking over for the National Guard.

Sinner - Gas Companies - How many times do I have to say, these guys aren't your friends.

Sinner - The French - For building the city below sea level.

In closing, for some additional information, read An Unnatural Metropolis by Colten. This disaster as happened at least twice in the past century. Learn people, learn.
