Apple TV

Wow, what a hunk of crap this thing is. First of all, let me state that PVR and media/entertainment integration to a computer is a hobby of mine. For years now, I've been using apps like MythTV and GB-PVR. That said, here's what my thought are on the Apple TV box:

• AppleTV has HDMI output, yet only streams itunes store material, yet no HD content available in store. Good luck streaming video for low end DSL users.
• No surround sound support
• 33Gb of usable Hard Drive space, assuming they actually let you save a purchased movie, that would be 2, 2hour High Def movies you could save at a time.
• to upgrade the HD, you probably have to bring it in to a dealer, like those iPhone/pod batteries
• to allow smooth streaming, most flick right now are geared for 320x240, the ipod screen res. Glad I have an HDMI output for that.
• No DVD player
• No Power Switch
• No DVR/PVR
• No Svideo Output
• $12 per movie that you'll never get to actually own?
