President Bush was once "The Decider", now he's the Commander Guy!
This was from a speech yesterday to the Associated General Contractors of America:
The question is, 'Who ought to make that decision, the Congress or the commanders?'" Bush told the crowd. "As you know, my position is clear – I'm the commander guy."
Yet I ask, how many Commanders or Generals for that matter has the Pres gone through since he invaded Iraq? I've honestly lost count. One thing is clear, when you have the Presidents support, your a goner (ie Brown, Rumsfeld, etc)
In fact, when the Iraq war began, Bush was really a "Congress guy", because he took the then Republican majority Congress approval, and ran off to war. Yet, at the time he ignored the Generals and Commanders that were saying we need more time, armor, exit strategy, etc before we invade.
FYI, Rumsfeld was not a Commander, he was a Captain in the Navy. All that navy urban combat experience is really showing. What they hell were we thinking? Forget background checks for guns, we need experience checks for our government!
