Generally its good practice, when a scheduled event within an online calendar needs to be canceled, you mark "Canceled" in the title. This way, people can still identify the event, within feeds, etc ...and have an idea what had happened.
It seems there are some exceptions to that rule.
The "The Federalist Society and SCCC Present: John Lott's More Guns, Less Crime" was to occur today on the campus of University of Texas, however due to the shooting today, the event was completely removed by UT administration.

An interesting move, but hard to say if it was the right move, given you can never delete things from the internet. Sadly, I'm sure there's many out there that thinks more guns would have prevented this.
