News Ethics

While Americans like to think the Communists are the masters of propaganda on television, the truth of the matter, propaganda and lies remain ever so strong in the US. Look no further then the so called Fox "News". While there are plenty of sites devoted to the lies, cheats, and false editing that Fox does to skew their right handed media, the purpose of writing today, is to focus more on the media and their policies in general.

CBS: Dan Rather
Often critisized for being the liberal media, due to Katie Couric's interview of Palin asking mediocre questions about foreign policies. Also joked by the right as: See, BS. CBS gracefully removed long time anchorman Dan Rather for his questionable report about the then President GW Bush. While his report was never disproved, just the fact that it wasn't 100% provable, was ground for removal under CBS policy.

NPR: Juan Williams
Williams was fired from NPR, over countless warnings that he was violating NPR policy, by giving his opinion on other television broadcasts. NPR believes their employees should have the impression of neutrality, and therefor banned employees from reporting the John Stewart rally.
While what Williams said that got him fired is up for debate, the fact was clear, he was continuously violating journalistic ethics and NPR's policies.

MSNBC: Keith Olbermann
Olbermann was recently suspended for contributing a few thousand dollars to the Democratic party. This is against NBC policy, again its all about old school ethics. While Keith will be back to work, it sends a message, they will uphold neutrality to a degree.

Fox:
Fox News has donated $1 million to Republican Governors Association. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. With current laws, its unknown how many billions of dollars the network and employees have donated to the far right agenda. Fox News has no rules on fact checking, personal opinions, hiring former/future politicians, and editing speeches. There are many you tube clips and reports to support these cases.

Need recent proof? Fox reported the Obama Asian trip as costing $200 million per day with 1/3 of the US naval armada on several of their programs. The source, some Indian dudes blog. Common sense should have told them something stunk, but that is your Fox News; no ethics, no honor.
